What we do

We work out which solar financing routes and state incentives are actually available at a given address, then introduce the homeowner to a licensed installer who covers that area. We are paid a referral fee by the installer. The homeowner pays us nothing.

What we are not

We are not a government agency. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any federal, state or local government body, any utility, or any public program. We do not sell, install, design, price or finance solar energy systems. We do not hold a home improvement contractor license in any state, because we do not perform home improvement work.

We say this plainly because the US solar industry has a serious problem with companies that imply otherwise. In March 2026 the New York Attorney General filed a $275 million action against a solar seller alleged to have marketed systems as free and government-funded. The Federal Trade Commission has published guidance stating that offers of free or no-cost solar panels are scams. We would rather be boring about this than be mistaken for one of them.

Every design, price, contract, warranty and installation is theirs. If something goes wrong with an installation, they are the contracting party. We will help you get hold of them, but we are not the contractor and we will not pretend to be.
